GOVERNANCE AND BUSINESS ETHICS
We are guided by our established standards of corporate governance and ethics. We review our systems to ensure we achieve international best practices in terms of transparency and accountability. The foundation of our approach to corporate governance is laid out in our Corporate Governance Guidelines and in the charters of our Board of Directors’ committees.
As an organization, we are committed to abiding by the below general ethical guidelines:
• We will not seek or take advantage of proprietary, confidential, or inside information that would give an unfair advantage in gaining business.
• We shall not give information to any one potential supplier that would provide any unfair advantage.
• We shall not offer, solicit, or accept gratuities, bribes, kickbacks, or promises for personal benefit in seeking or granting business from or to others.
• We shall not use corporate assets or business relationships for personal use or gain.
• We shall be truthful in our communications with customers, suppliers, shareholders, and each other.
These principles guide us in everything we do -- from determining the strategic direction of our company, to implementing the smallest tactical action item. Sound ethical judgment is important at all times, it guides us in every transaction, and reflects directly on the brand image we have worked to build.
These corporate ethics is managed through the Public Policy and Corporate Reputation Council, a cross-functional group of senior managers from our Company and logistics partners. The Council identifies threats and opportunities faced by our business and communities and recommends strategies to address these challenges accordingly.
